One of the important steps in setting up a HOA is making sure your bookyear is set correctly. To do this, we will have to go to Octopus.
First navigate to 'Bookyears' as seen in the screenshot below.
Now click on the visible bookyear and click on the pencil button to edit it. If you want to create a new bookyear, you can do this by clicking the '+' button.
This will open the bookyear detail page. On this page you have to change the following:
- Change the description (name) of your bookyear to the correct year.
- Change the dates of your bookyear to the correct period.
- Change the period to 'Year'. By default this could be on 'Month', this is important because in Vera your bookyear will otherwise be split up in 12 periods instead of 1.
IMPORTANT: When you create a new fiscal year following an already existing fiscal year, the journals will be automatically transferred. Please note, however, that in the fiscal year the journals must exist before they can be automatically transferred. If you create two fiscal years and then the journals, you will have to add them manually to both fiscal years.
