One of the important steps in the setup of your HOA, is creating and linking your financial journals.
By default only the purchase, sales and opening balance journals will be in here.
To do this, go to Octopus and navigate to the 'Journals' page, as seen in the screenshot below.
Once on this page, press on the '+' button to create a new journal.
Now create a financial journal, enter the name you want to give it, preferably the name of bank (account) you are linking and the GLA you want to link it to. Repeat this step for every bank account.
Fill in the following fields:
- Type / Code
- Name
- Account
Other values will be set by default.
If the GLA's as seen in Vera are not shown here, make sure to press the 'Synchronise with Octopus' button first.
For the F1 journal you can use account 551000 while for the F2 journal you can use 550001 as example.
Now save and then click on the tab 'Bank Details' and fill in the correct values for your bank account as seen in the screenshot below.
You can repeat this step to create your diverse journal as well.
