4.11 SunVote voting pads configuration

In Vera we have a meeting feature built in. For these meetings, it is possible to vote by using voting pads. Before being able to use these for your meetings, we will first have to complete the setup.

Follow the steps below to succesfully setup your voting pads.

First, plug your basestation(s) into your laptop/pc. If you plug the base station in via USB, you do not have to use the power adapter.

Secondly, download the installation file from the attachment at the bottom of this article.

Once the download has finished, open the file and follow the steps in the setup wizard.

The installation is now complete. Click on close and navigate to the folder on your PC where you installed this file. If you didn't change the location, it should be under This PC -> Windows (C:) -> Program Files (x86) -> KeypointConnect-VotingService.Setup by default.

Double click on the application file; KeypointConnect-VotingService (app).

Once running, login with your Keypoint username and password.

Now double click on your team in the selection field.

Double click on the meeting you want to use the voting pads for.

Enter the ID of your basestation (this should be visible on your basestation or on the box). 

In case of multiple base stations:

• Plug in each base station via USB (use a dockingstation if you do not have enough USB ports in your laptop).
• Enter the ID's by seperating them with a comma (,) or by using a '-' for ID's 1 to 5 for example.

IMPORTANT: When using different base stations, make sure to mark the voting devices with the number on the base station so you can easily retrieve them and put them back in the correct bag. Each voting device is assigned to a base station and they can not be mixed. For registering voting devices from different base stations, this is no problem however, as you can fill in codes at random.

Once the basestation has been succesfully connected, it is first time to register all attendees. Let the attendees sign in via a laptop, tablet, qr-code or via the user portal.

Once registered, you can start coupling co-owners with voting pads. To assign a voting pad to a co-owner, simply enter the code linked to a co-owner into a voting pad. 

First turn on the device by clicking 'SEND' then press for example 4 - 2 - 5 to link the voting pad to the co-owner. Do this for each person you want to assign a pad to.

Each time a pad has been succesfully linked, a checkmark will appear next to the name of the co-owner in question.

Once you have finished the setup, you can now begin voting.

When clicking 'start voting' and 'end voting' in Vera, this will automatically sync to the voting application.

Extra info for procurations:

In case of procuration given to a fellow owner:

• One voting device will be used/needed for the owner and all his procurations
  • In case the owner receives two procurations and has himself/herself to vote vor, he will still only need one voting device

In case of procuration given to a non-owner:

• One voting device will be needed for each procuration
  • In case the non-owner gets a two procurations from two different owners, he/she will thus need two voting devices
